Our History

AussieVision Academy was established in 2010 by Bronte Carmichael, a highly respected television producer with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Bronte, having witnessed firsthand the growing demand for skilled professionals in Australian television production, envisioned a training institution that would bridge the gap between traditional education and the practical demands of the industry. Inspired by her own experiences and the challenges faced by emerging filmmakers, she set out to create a learning environment that was both rigorous and supportive, where students could learn from industry experts and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of television production.

The academy initially started as a small workshop in a converted warehouse in Surry Hills, Sydney, offering courses in screenwriting, directing, and cinematography. With Bronte's extensive industry network and the dedication of a team of experienced instructors, AussieVision Academy quickly gained a reputation for providing high-quality, practical training that was relevant to the needs of the industry. As demand grew, the academy expanded its offerings, adding courses in editing, sound design, and television production management.

In 2015, AussieVision Academy moved to its current location at Level 3, 15 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, a purpose-built facility that includes a fully equipped television studio, editing suites, sound recording booths, and a screening room. The new campus allowed the academy to expand its student intake and offer a wider range of courses, including a full-time diploma in television production. Over the years, AussieVision Academy has trained hundreds of students who have gone on to successful careers in the Australian television industry, working on award-winning dramas, comedies, documentaries, and reality shows.

Today, AussieVision Academy remains committed to its founding mission of providing accessible and high-quality training for aspiring television professionals in Australia. The academy continues to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape of the industry, incorporating new technologies and techniques into its curriculum and maintaining strong partnerships with leading television networks and production companies.
